You can do your job poorly, miss deadlines, hold meetings that should be emails, under communicate, and even have a poor attitude from time to time. In the midst of these, the team can still function. One thing can bring a team to a full stop. When a team member stops caring about the work, it’s hard to come back from. Teams deal in the currency of caring. Even when I mess up, as long as I show I’m trying and I care about what we are trying to accomplish, the team, overall, still accepts it and pushes forward. However, the moment it is perceived that the work isn’t important to me, the team and work comes to a halt. Team leaders, address the attitude towards the work as much as you address the work itself.
